About the artist

Kara grew up in southern Missouri. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking and drawing fromUniversity of Missouri-Columbia and a Master of Fine Arts from Iowa State University. Kara uses a variety of media to explore themes of memory and dreams in her work, with emphases on representations ofuniversal spaces shared by a collective unconscious and personal mythology.

Kara lives in Iowa, where she works as an art professor at Iowa Central Community College.
